They taste noticeably better than other offerings, and cook quickly into a deliciously smooth and creamy breakfast. As a bonus they're organic, so help me avoid the toxic pesticides that are regularly sprayed on cereal crops.The relatively fine milling allows you to go from box to bowl within five minutes if you want to, but I prefer to soak my oats over night all the same. Soaking any type of grain has been shown to help activate enzymes, aiding digestion and increasing nutrient absorption, and it also speeds up cooking so saves you money on fuel too! Just empty half a small cup of oats per person into a pan and cover with water before you go to bed.THE HEALTH BENEFITSPorridge is a brilliant breakfast food, and it has many health benefits. I used to eat toast, but really that's just a fat delivery system. Porridge on the other hand fills you up with a low fat, high fibre meal that's incredibly cheap yet highly nutritious. It's rich in anti-oxidants and soluble fibre (great for gut health) and helps reduce cholesterol and control blood sugar levels.
