Review: Just What He Needed - My husband has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. He fell breaking his humerus bone up in the shoulder blade area. He went to rehab for a while where I was arriving in time to feed him every day because he was so shaky and couldn't use his right hand to feed himself. In rehab the OT gave him a weighted spoon with a large handle that reminded me of the one we used with one of my preschoolers with CP. These are not heavily weighed but have a textured grip that keeps them from slipping. The grip is the same as on the one he was using in rehab. The metal part is bendable and a good standard size. The cost is comparable to some brands that will send only one utensil where in this set you get 3. My daughter and I have washed them several times in the sink with no problems. [I've long removed my dishwasher so I can't say how they hold up in one.] I may order another set so that we can have them available between washings. My husband enjoys being able to feed himself, so they work very well for him.
