I bought it to handle venison, and it has not disappointed. The simple construction, simple controls and simple cleaning process are what I needed. The motor, although very powerful, can sound like it is straining. I made sure that I had pre-prepared my meat and turned the motor off after each batch had gone through. This prevented any overheating. I experienced none of the difficulties some have referred to in reviews.In a deer the foreleg meat has a lot of tendon, which just disappeared in the process, rather than having to go through the tedious process of pulling. (Mix that kind with fattier meat.
