I put the canister part in the fridge and the part to be frozen in the freezer 24 hours before departure. I had 5 vials that I needed to keep cold. I put those in the bag that was supplied with the cooler. There was still room for more. We flew from the states to South Africa and had a long layover in between. We traveled about 48 hours without additional refridgeration. My meds were kept cold the entire time. I loved being able to check the temperature with the gauge on the lid. I had zero issues going through TSA. The canister is very sturdy.
