Bought a different version for my son living on the East coast and he liked it's cold air defendability so I figured I'd try one. I personally like the the slightly longer waist protection to keep the chill from creeping up the back. Outer material does pretty good job at keeping the cold air out and the faux fur lining helps with heat retention. If you can get this kind of jacket on a deal price, do it. Of course I personally don't think this jacket is truly designed for skiing, snow boarding or the like, It's more suited for general winter use.
