This was my first time using the system in any capacity so I did a lot of research to find the real benefit of the pump. My water pressure was just not high enough at an average of 42 psi, so I decided to bite the bullet and take a chance on the pump. I was using a shutoff float in my RO/DI water barrel and liked that I didn't have to monitor the water to turn it off when full. This unit was very easy to put inline with the pump; it was installed in under 10 minutes. The first night I made water while I was in bed for the night and I was really worried that I would wake up to water all over the floor (it's set up near the drain so there wouldn't have been a flood but the floor would have been wet, with a lot of water wasted. When I went to check the unit, it was quiet... a great sign (the pump is moderately noisy... LOL) All was well with the world. I've used it 4 times since and it hasn't let me down. It was well worth the money for my time saved in not having to monitor the pump to turn it off and not having water (and electricity) wasted. I use it with the 8800 pump & the included 24v AC transformer (output). The switch turns on at 19 psi and turns off at 40 psi using the Watts RO and tank. It works perfectly with 24v AC output but don't know if it will work with DC output. **Q: How does this connect to the transformer? Will it work with other brands other than aqua tech? I am considering a ronaqua one.** A: This is for use with the aquatec pump on an RO system only. The fittings are specific to connect to the pump and transformer. Not sure if any others would work with it **Q: Where exactly is the marking of direction of flow? Is the "in" is on the red terminal lugs side?** A: There is no direction as it is a simple pressure switch. Flow stops with a float switch. Pressure builds and initiates the off position on the switch. When pressure drops the switch engages the power. My outlet is connected to the side with the lugs. **Q: does it shutoff pump if no water supply and tank is below 40 psi?** A: It shuts off when a set water pressure is reached.
