The SOTSU FlipAction Pro 16" is a premium portable monitor featuring a 2560x1600 QXGA LG panel with 99% DCI-P3 color accuracy, housed in a CNC-machined full metal chassis. ## Description

SOTSU, the creator of the world's first popular manufacturing business TCG launches the SOTSU Portable FlipAction Monitor 16 (SPFAM 16), one of the world's most versatile monitors in three colorways: Universe Black, Granite Gray, Arctic Blue. The SPFAM 16 comes with a 16-inch LG display panel, a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 and has excellent color performance. It comes with an SD card slot, height and tilt adjustability and made with CNC machined metal parts. The display screen can rotate from 0 to -90, 90, and 180 degrees. It is compatible with computers and selected number of cellphone brands. The monitor also supports pass-through charging to power the computer devices. “We created this product because there are two major flaws with the laptop monitor design. It only has one screen, which means you have limited amount of real estate. Also, the laptop keyboard is connected to the screen which means the screen position is constrained by the keyboard. This causes the screen to be excessively below the eye level which breaks the ergonomics of the work setup. SPFAM 16 can provide a portable solution to some of the abovementioned issues. The monitor can be raised on top of the laptop display panel providing two screens which could potentially alleviate strain on the neck,” said Jerry Ruxun Dong, the founder of the SOTSU brand. Jerry states, “After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, I founded a company that can produce high quality products because we control the entire product cycle. What make up for its mediocre specs (2560x1600, 60Hz, 350nits) are two things: outstanding design and effortless compatibility. The display looks and feels just like an iPad with a built-in kick stand. It offers more positioning options than I could reasonably expect or imagine. The base conveniently snaps onto the back of the display magnetically. The whole thing fits snugly into its protective sleeve. The included cable is thoughtfully L-shaped on one end. A single large wheel button offers easy access to menu and settings. Ports are smartly placed on the edges of the kick stand. One can’t help wondering if Apple played a hand in the overall design. Speaking of Apple, Macs notoriously don’t play well with non-Apple displays. This is the only portable display I’ve tried that gets correctly recognized by both my Macs and my iPad Pro for its resolution, ratio, and HDR capability without me having to do any fiddling. It works effortlessly with PCs as well. It’s a glossy finish, making image vibrant and colors rich. There is some reflection as expected, though not as bad as some other glossy portable displays I have. Cons, very few and not deal breakers: - The magnets connecting the base and the display aren’t very strong. The base can fall off if you hold the display screen side up without supporting the base. - The seams on the protective case came loose at the opening after two days. I’d prefer for it to be slightly looser and with zippers. - For the price, you’re mostly paying for the design (aesthetics and usability). Similarly priced ViewSonic 15.6” OLED 4K portable display is a strong contender in terms of excellent specs and portability. I’m still torn between the two, in fact.
