Now I can get uniform illumination directly down on the desk without it affecting my eyes or the screen brightness at all. The 4 different warm settings should suit all preferences and applications. I don't like the high wavelength bluish white light that is the only option in many lamps, but this has that as well as a very warm yellowish glow, and 2 intermediate wavelengths. As an added bonus, to keep from looking like someone in the witness protection program while on videoconferences, I can turn on the 2 smaller lights on low and aim them at my face so people can see me clearly rather than just my outline, given that I have a window behind me that can wash out the camera. I can't recommend these highly enough - they are fantastic multipurpose desk lights! One would be plenty for a smaller desk, but consider 2 for larger ones just for added flexibility and uniform lighting. They wobble a little while adjusting the height of my sitting/standing desk, but they don't move at all while I type, so given how thin and tall they are, they are surprisingly stable.
