The longer of the two shoe horns was so heavy* I thought I wouldn't use it much. That isn't the case at all. I am 6 feet 1 inches tall and the long shoe horn is long enough I don't even have to bend over at all to use this. I just place the front of my foot into my rather tight sneaker, place the shoe horn at the back, and push my foot the rest of the way in. The shiny metal makes my foot glide right in, no strain, no wiggling back and forth, just slide and it's in. This reminds me of something you'd find in a classy gentleman's valet case - a beautiful tool for careful dressing.I also think if you're helping an older person put on their shoes either one of these shoe horns, which are an amazing deal by the way, are just what you want.*When I say this shoe horn is heavy I mean relatively heavy in comparison to the cheaper plastic type you'll find at a shoe store, or Walmart perhaps. Both are constructed of thick stainless steel. I only tried the long one because I am too lazy to bend down to put on my shoes and use the smaller shoe horn. I use it every single day. Other long shoe horns that I've had either bent because the metal was thinner or were plastic and broke after awhile.
