The higher frequencies are not tinny and the bass is strong for such a small device. There are teeny little subwoofers in them. I received the gold color earbuds and they are a pleasant muted shade.The remote can be used to answer and hang up a telephone call, and to pause, play, skip and reverse music. I do miss having volume control on the remote, even though I don’t use it all that often. When I want to use it, it is handy to have. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.The earbuds arrived in a timely manner from Amazon and were well packaged in foam inside a sturdy cardboard box. Contained with the buds were 3 pairs of extra foam earbud tips in small, medium and large, 3 pairs of silicone in-ear soft gels in small, medium and large that fit the curve of your ear to keep the buds from slipping out, a pair of memory foam tips, a cable management clip and a small carrying bag.I use the small ear tips and I found that the soft gels that were attached to the buds in the box hurt my ear after a little, so I needed to switch to the smaller size of those. When I switched, they didn't hurt anymore.I found the sound performance to be really good. I’m not a real fanatic about sound like my husband is, but I could really tell a difference with these earbuds, almost like a surround-sound experience. I even looked over my shoulder once to see where this sound was coming from, and it was inside my own ear! Strange. But cool.I would recommend these earbuds. The company appears to be very responsive to requests and concerned about making the best product available for a very decent price. I have used these earbuds for several days now, for hours at a time, and I have been pleased. The sound quality is fantastic and I do love how well they stay in your ears - a pair that kept falling out was the reason I bought these. However, they really hurt my ears after being in for long (45 min +) periods of time. The plastic digs in, even with the covers. Also, there is something in the rubber fittings that makes my ears itch like crazy, which has never happened with this kind of headphone before.
