Monster (at least all of the flavors that I have tried) are carbonated and basically similar to soda. This is not carbonated and is much more like drinking juice. I find the Strawberry Banana OK tasting. Doesn't really taste like Strawberry or Banana, but also doesn't taste like vegetable juice either. I strongly prefer a soda energy drink, I just tried this because it was juice - but a closer examination shows that it is only 50% juice, so not as healthy as one might think. I will keep looking. **Q: Why the price hike ?** A: 3 weeks ago this was 12.84$ form Amazon. I believe these sellers are gouging. **Q: Why are these hard to get now?
