A little on the dry side and it crumbles as you bite into it - I'm not complaining, just informing. Sip on some water as you eat it and you're fine. Good taste overall and not at all unpleasant. I can't speak for the nutritional content - I have no way to prove or disprove what they promote. However, as of this review I've purchased this twice, and I will buy at least two more when I get paid. If you're hiking or working out a lot, highly nutritious food is important. Stay hydrated, do your research on food, fluids and nutrition (especially these days... ) and you'll guide yourself towards a better life. Literally something you can fit in any bag for emergencies. The only real disappointment is it’s only 1125 calories. So you’d actually need 2 packages to get a full days calories. Might be best as a supplement rather than a true emergency ration by itself. This is why I’m giving 4/5 stars.
