And does it have plastic brackets/hinges?** A: Yes to both. Mine arrived broken. I returned it and didn’t bother getting it replaced. Very expensive - I was disappointed with the quality. The shelf isn’t solid wood either but MDF covered in a plastic veneer. The top board was very padded and if I’d have kept it I would have put an extra layer on it. **Q: Does steam drip through the surface of the board?** A: No - I have never noticed that. I'm very happy with this ironing board - it is a great purchase. **Q: What weight will the pull out shelf take? My steam generator iron is heavy.** A: Mine s heavy too and it takes the weight well.
