**Q: How do you catch the fish?? How to the catch on the pole**
A: The pole and fish connect by magnet.  This is a great game, probably the first that my kids could actually play.  I think it helped them learn to focus, take turns, follow a protocol, etc.

**Q: Can a one year old still have fun with the game?**
A: A one year old won't be able to follow the rules, but will enjoy "free play" with the sturdy wooden pieces. So yes, a one year old will have fun with it, just like he/she would with any wooden sea animal toys, but not in the sense of proper gameplay with rules. I would recommend hiding the games for a few months just about the child's second birthday and then take it out again when the child is old enough to understand the rules - this way the game will be fresh and interesting again when the child is ready to learn the "proper" game rules.

My 4 year old granddaughter loves this game. It is incredibly well made too. The pieces are solid wood and beautifully painted. The fishing rod is easy to use and the magnets so sturdy. She loves to play this game, suitable for her age.
