There is NO non-stick coating of any kind in this product. The inner pot is made of the 304 stainless steel, which is a food-safe material. **Q: How well does the IP do making fork-tender, fall-off-the-bone moist country-style boneless bbq ribs?** A: The three foods I do exclusively with an instant pot 1. yogurt 2. ribs and 3. hard boiled eggs Because nothing does these 3 better than an instant pot. The ribs I cook for 18 - 20 min. because I like my ribs moist, cooked and NOT "Fall Off The Bone" then cut the individual ribs apart and put under the broiler for 4 min on each side covered with BBQ sauce. Chewing the meat off the bones and eating with my hands helps remind me of where I came from. **Q: 6 qt versus 8 qt ?** A: I have both the 6 quart (2-4 people) and the 8 quart. If you wanted to cook a whole chicken, the 6 quart is too small. It’s also too small for anything more than 1-1/2 racks of ribs. For cheesecakes is about the right size for 2-4 people. I also make a large pot of soup with the 8 quart and then freeze the left overs. **Q: What are the differences between the Plus and Ultra version ?** A: There are places you can look up the differences. I have owned both in the past. If you consider yourself a fancy cook, even a fancy home cook, the ultra is probably the one you should go with. However, if you like things to be on the easy side, and go with the plus as it is easier to operate and does the same things. Another advantage of the duo, is that the handles have holes in them so that when you remove the lid you can set it in one of the holes without having to put it down on the counter somewhere.
