Review: Best home entertainment investment I've ever made. - Benq makes home theater beautiful! I upgraded from an old Benq DLP that still had a great picture at only 768p. I really didn't expect such an amazing improvement. The colors, contrasts, and brightness seem nearly perfect out of the box. I am projecting on a white wall with no special screen and it still blows me away as well as very much impressing our guests. The image is currently 120 inches diagonal and sitting 8 to 12 feet back it looks incredibly sharp and vivid. I love that it had lots of input sources including old analog sources. We connected our old Wii console and the image upscaled well for an awesome family gaming experience. I also played some Star Wars Battlefront and it felt epic on the huge screen! The image is so bright I actually turned down the brightness for night viewing. The default brightness was just right with some ambient light however... with just a white wall, no screen. I wish it had a bit more vertical lens adjustment to bring the image higher on the wall when front ceiling mounted (projector inverted) without tilting the projector. I could use the Keystone adjustment but the borders get a bit larger when using Keystone compensation. Just get it and try not to smirk when your friends show off their puny 65 inch flat panel TV that cost the same.

**Q: What’s the difference between older model and this?**
A: I found this article www.hifihelper.com/ht2050a-vs-ht2050 helpful for not only listing all the differences, but helping you to understand if those differences would make much of a difference or not. I ended up going with the newer model and I'm glad I did, but now it makes more sense what some of these upgrades do or when they might be useful. Because even though I'm not really taking advantage of them now, they might be helpful in the future and now I feel like I'll be able to get more out of this projector. REALLY awesome projector by the way! Definitely worth spending the money to get one of these over the ones that cost a little less! Hope that helps :)

**Q: Just how dark does a room need to be to use this projector?**
A: It will work even in a well lit room. The projector also has a “Bright” mode that’s even brighter but I think normal mode is fine even in bright light

**Q: Does it do 3d?**
A: Hello, yes this projector will support 3D content.

You've got to make sure you're using a pair of DLP Active Link Glasses and ensure that you're using a 3D Blu Ray player.

**Q: How does this look in the day time**
A: It’s a fairly low lumen unit so light must be controlled in order to get the most out of it. Obviously the darker the better.  If needing a projector for daytime use look at a much much higher lumen output unit

Amazing contrast. Black levels are great. For 1080p and it’s amazing as it supports HDR content. We watch tons of movies on streaming services and the quality is amazing. It is very bright as well and paired with a good screen makes it a dream like having a home theatre. I would be hesitant to buy a budget 4K projector over this one as it is that good and has the upgraded LED bulb that will last for years to come. It also has a proven track record of performing without an issue for years.
