For the price you can't go wrong - You pretty much cannot beat these boots for the price. They offer "good" protection. The ankle shielding could be better. The quality is great. The leather is really nice. The boots are pretty stiff, but comfortable. The fit is big. I wear a 13 mens. 48-49 in Astars and others. The 47 in these boots is roomy. The boa cable is my only possible complaint. It seems fine now, but I worry about the future. Luckily with the side zipper on the boot, I cinched down the boa cable and will not need to unwind it. I simply unzip the boot and it comes off easily. The boot fitment on the lower calf is a tad loose, but I wear leg/knee armor so it fits just about right. This is with the boa cable fully cinched*. If you have large calves, you should be fine with the amount of adjustment the boa cable allows. Overall comfort and walking seems fine.
