Check information about the growing zone you live in and the temperature range and then read about caladiums....that would give the most precise information. **Q: Are they deer resistant ?** A: The deer love them. The good thing for me was that after the deer made breakfast of them, they grew new leaves and still looked beautiful. **Q: Are they sun lovers or better in shady areas** A: They grow best in shady areas. They add a lot of color to a shady garden. **Q: What are the "safe" planting zones outside** A: You can grow them in summer in most zones, if temps stay 70s or higher. The bulbs were big and healthy. Once they grew I saw that I received 5 different kinds! I planted 1 bulb per pot. All have sprouted! Cons: they took weeks to sprout. Pros: Once they sprouted they grew fast! Some are bigger than my hand. They are easy to care for. They seem to grow best in the shade.
