But seriously, without a catastrophic failure they could last many years past the warranty just at an increasingly diminished capacity. The biggest problem is that the multiple cells inside the battery degrade at different rates and the weakest cell is always the most stressed. Fast charging and high current demand usage also increase stress, the main indicator is heat. If you push the batteries until they are hot (charging or discharging) degradation occur more quickly. Running batteries hard below 20% of charge causes degradation.
