Every time we tried to use the chairs with these installed, the floor was marked up. Sometimes it was scratching, sometimes the wheel got stuck and if was scuffing. We were able to get most of the marks out, but not all. I bought a set for both my mother and myself. Mom has some mobility issues and I was looking for stability in a swivel chair. I didn't want it rolling out from under her as she was standing next to it (when getting in or out of the chair). When you are seated, these casters will roll but you have to want to roll. If zooming about the room on wheels is what you want, these are not the casters for you. My only complaint is that they were exceedingly difficult to install in the chair we'd chosen. Each one took a lot of working with force to press them into place. We didn't want to use a hammer for fear of breaking the chair leg or the caster. So far they are holding up fine, supporting weight up to 250#.
