I love this bag. It's got a bit of patina already. It appears to have a natural finish applied to it, just barely past the raw leather point. I'll definitely be putting a coat of something more on before I use it, but for the price and quality and style, I'm happy to do that. The leather has a scratch on the back, but I'm not bothered by it. It has a slightly rustic/rugged look, which I what I was after. If I'd bought a finely detailed bag, the first scratch could have ruined the bag's image. The existing scratch and future ones will add to this bag's existing character. I won't be surprised if it's barely noticeable after I put a coat of conditioner over it. By the way, I like that I get to choose natural conditioners from the start with this bag, rather than mixing my natural stuff with some caustic layers of something already on there. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So far LOVE this back... *by T***2 on July 10, 2022* I have only had about a week, I love the smell of the leather, it is slowly starting to break in and becoming softer, has lots of room and great look and I finally found a back that I can put over my shoulder cross way and not choke myself. I have had sever people at work comment on the color and look of it. Very simple and fashionable.... for it is a great bag for what I need.. I did spray with with water repellent, because I was not sure it was already sprayed, so not if is even more protected.. GREAT SHOULDER BAG for everything. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Leather Case *by B***S on June 3, 2019* I haven't had this long enough to speak to its durability but the leather is lovely and the size is perfect for a laptop, iPad and a good bit of other 'stuff' you would carry in a messenger bag. The leather smell is quite strong for about a week and completely goes away after about two weeks. I love the feel and finish of the leather.My only modest complaint is that the magnetic closures cannot hold the flap closed.
