After the full 4 week process I wasn’t happy with the shine, so I sought out a better product for a final polish rather than resorting to mineral oil and faking it. The difference this made with 4 days as a second final polish was amazing, even basalt has come up with a shine. I added a spoonful of baking soda to the barrel with this and there was no fizzing/pressure, and rinsing off was easy and quick. I’ve not tried this as step 4 (rather than adding a second polish as step 5) but will do on my next batch.
