It works well and is lightweight. It likely will not take a ton of abuse due to the thin nature of the metal (not an issue for me as it will usually be in a tote within a canoe rather than in or attached to a pack). The burner comes with a little case which seems adequate to keep it from being damaged. We practiced cooking with the set before his hike. The only thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars was the igniter on the stove did not work very well. It took more than 20 clicks to light each time, all the while your gas is running and not burning. I feared he would run out of fuel before he could get it working, so he used matches to light the stove instead.
