A: Yes, you are able to boil the bag. I don’t know what the material is tho.

A: It’s just the cheesecloth bag that comes with this to strain your own kava. It works pretty well. 

You aren’t buying kava, just the bag here.

**Q: Could I use the bag as a filter to make hot coffee?**

It's just a well made little strainer bag. My fiance uses it to strain out the liquid in yogurt that she makes and it works perfectly for that too. As far as making kava in it, sure it's fine, I don't really have a tremendous amount of patience for it though to be honest. But it's just a nice product. I stupidly tried holding it high in a blender to agitate the Kava and made a little rip in it, so ordering a new one. You could use this thing for many applications though.
