This clear coat is ideal for woodwork, furniture, doors, cabinets and floors. Directions: STEP 1: SAND THE FLOOR. Sand the floor to prepare it for finishing. Follow the floor sander manufacturer's directions.STEP 2: APPLY MINWAX WOOD FINISH STAIN (OPTIONAL). If you have sanded the floor down to bare wood, or you have a new, unfinished wood floor, you can stain the floor. Sand and prepare the floor according to the sander manufacturer’s directions, ending with 100 grit sandpaper. Remove all dust.STEP 3: Stir Polyurethane before and during use to eliminate settling on the bottom of the can. Stir to rotate the product from the bottom to the top of the can. NEVER SHAKE.STEP 4: Apply a THIN coat of Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane using a high-quality natural or foam brush. Used a quarter of 1 can to put a first coat on some plywood shelves. Everything went as expected. Sanded them after 6 hours to put a second coat on. Opened the can again to get started and noticed the poly is quite a bit thicker than it was earlier. Like spreading molassis on my plywood. would not level out. Left brush marks in my wood.
