This particular hat advertised as adjustable with chin strap and foldable. When it arrived, it was wrapped thoroughly in plastic with a hat mold to keep the hat from bending during shipment.I wriggled the brim and head part of the hat. Pretty stiff. I'm very hesitant to test I'd it really rolls up and instead have decided to protect the original shape.There was no chin strap in the package or attacked to the hat to adjust and prevent it from falling if you are active or if it's a windy day.The adjustable part is a small velcro strap under the sweat lining of the hat. It's not the most secure adjustment and I much prefer adjusting with drawstrings. That said, the hat did come with 2 foam attachments to make the hat fit a little tighter.I plan to wear the hat in the sun, on beautiful days to protect my face and eyes while the test of me enjoys beautiful summers. I'll wear it lounging in the sun, at the lake etc. Therefore, I really don't need it to adjust to a tighter fit on my head.I loved the idea of a small opening on the hat for ponytails or buns to rest but this isn't a true hair updo hat. The band that touches your head goes all the way around. With the extra size, I'm able to fit part of a low ponytail hairtie under the hat with the tail of the pony sticking out between the bows. Fits fine, not too tight and looks alright. That said, for people wanting buns or higher ponytails, I'd suggest one of the full open top hats.Despite the fact it isn't very adjustable (small heads beware), it didn't come with a chin strap (windy habitats inadvised) and doesn't appear foldable (at your own risk).....This hat is beautiful. It's a little darker than my cream Beige hat I have at home, will definitely protect my face and ears from the sun and is comfortable.
