As disposal units are rated by HP, I really shouldn't have to ask this.** A: Half a horsepower. If this one does that well I’ll be more than satisfied.This updated version seems quieter but otherwise identical in size and performance.Delivery was early and no problems. Still need to use the food bin, for some items, but any small bits left on plates is not an issue anymore. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ very pleased, good value *by R***S on 17 March 2020* Old one broke after 20 years, grinder arms simply wore through, which goes to show how well used it was!Bought this because the fitting seemed identical, and indeed the unit looked the same, albeit under a different name, so was hoping for a direct swap. Turned out the pipe outlet was slightly higher, but everything came together with a bit of flexing and huffing.Much quiter than the previous version, and very bright red (the old was a less obtrusive grey, but this red is pleasantly dramatic).It came with everything you need to fit it to a bare sink, nice quality, but superfluous for me.Bought the air switch separately, we used to use the wall switch, and together they work beautifully.
