## Description

Mallenders and Sallenders can be a demoralising and stubborn skin condition found in Cobs and heavy horses. It first appears as an build up of thickened, crusted scale and scabs on the front and hind legs of horses. It is sometimes known as "Cob Knee". Sallenders occurs in the crease of the knee on the front leg and Mallenders is present in front of the hock on the hind legs. This condition effects mostly Draft or heavy breeds, although it can be found in many horses that are heavily feathered. As a Farrier I often come across Sallenders and Mallenders Gypsy, Shire, Drum and Friesian horses. The cause of Sallenders and Mallenders is the over production of keratin. Keratin is the building block of hair and horn. It is the fibrous protein. Sallenders and Mallenders can become extremely uncomfortable for your horse and if left untreated can cause lameness. If lesions are left to develop, secondary fungal and bacterial infection may transpire. There is no cure for Sallenders and Mallenders but it can be managed easily. Farriers M&S Cream will gently soften the waxy build-up in a couple of days and the scabs will start to drop off. Review: Results are amazing. - Absolutely amazing product, after 10 years of trying everything from prescribed by the vet to old school treatment's, this really really does get all the cruddy crusty scabby bits off, my very hairy clydesdale has mallenders which was mis diagnosed for several years, she hates with a passion any touching of her front lower leg and feathers as it gets very sore, I started to apply this cream and to my amazement after a minute of fidgeting she stood still! and was happy to have the other leg done, by the time I had finished the scabs on the first leg were starting to peel away, and look so much less inflamed, wish I'd found this years ago, can't recommend enough.

Absolutely amazing product, after 10 years of trying everything from prescribed by the vet to old school treatment's, this really really does get all the cruddy crusty scabby bits off, my very hairy clydesdale has mallenders which was mis diagnosed for several years, she hates with a passion any touching of her front lower leg and feathers as it gets very sore, I started to apply this cream and to my amazement after a minute of fidgeting she stood still! and was happy to have the other leg done, by the time I had finished the scabs on the first leg were starting to peel away, and look so much less inflamed, wish I'd found this years ago, can't recommend enough.

Amazing Product very happy with the outcome of the solution. It’s worked fantastically, about 3 weeks it took for my horses legs to heal and they’re on still healing process but haven’t used it much since! Definitely recommended this stuff for cobs the most, and it’s very easy to apply and definitely waterproof as it’s hard to remove from your hands. But I love it, as it works great for my horses
