It would flash on the screen for a few seconds, then cut out in favor of a black screen and the message that there was no signal. I have tried all sorts of different antennas and amplifiers with no luck whatsoever, but with the Channel Master preamp everything changed. The CBS station that I could not receive at all is now completely stable, and several new stations are now available. Hooking up the preamp was very easy. You do have to employ a power inverter (which Channel Master supplies), but that is no problem. The preamp is designed to go on an outside antenna installation and the power inverter sends power to it, but it can also be set up indoors. It provides 30db of gain (or a lower level of gain that is available through a simple switch) and it also has a very powerful LTE filter. I could not be happier with this product.
