What puts me in check is remembering that unless you pay my bills and life style, I don't need your approval or acceptance. It took along time, many years actually to move away from the concept of external approval and wanting to recieve it in order to feel wanted. I was only feeding into their needs, not mine. As I digress, this is a great book, heavy, real and hopeful. This is information I could have used earlier on in life (years). A hard line focus on the facts for my specific journey in life. Not all of us have or will experience the same journeys, so this isn't for everyone.
