Water stopped coming out of the hole that indicates proper water flow through the engine. I replaced the complete water pump assembly and there was no change. So I bought Salt Terminator to flush the engine. The instructions on the jug say a mixer is required. I didn't have one and anyway this engine won't accept flushing muffs. So I filled the 20 gallon bucket I use for flushing with fresh water after taking the boat out in salt water and added this stuff in the ratio required. I ran the motor for about 10 minutes with no change. So I left the engine to soak with the flushing solution in the motor for a few hours. Then upon starting water started coming out of the hole in a strong steady stream just like it is supposed to. Though the jug did not mention soaking it did the trick. I thought I would need to start taking the engine apart to clean the water passages but this stuff worked so I didn't have to. I am truly impressed.
