Appliances usually have a matte finish, but the Scratch Pro kit gives you a shiny polished look. Furthermore, you will need to go over the entire surface to get uniform look. **Q: Sandpaper on stainless steel? Seems risky.** A: I used this on some stainless cookware that food was starting to stick to. I achieved a mirror shine and no more sticking! The sandpaper is 800 grit. The diamond paste is not marked with grit or %age. Elbow grease is essential for a good result. **Q: My stainless steel sink has chemical stains, will this product work on those types of stains?** A: It depends but usually you would have to sand off the surface where the chemical has penetrated, and that could be pretty deep.
