It left an open tender wound in my left upper gum area. I bought this mouth rinse to help heal the wound, now that the infection was killed off. It has shown major improvement in appearance, and reduction of discomfort after only three days. Be aware, it is nasty tasting. It also has a drying sensation while in my mouth. But the fact it does what it claims to do, heal the wound. Dealing with the taste is a minor issue. It says it can be used to help heal after teeth extractions also. Zinc is well documented for its antibacterial and healing properties.
