To get by I patched it with an air mattress patch I had with me only to then discover that the cap leaks while laying flat to heat. Most of the water will leak out before the water is heated. The twist valve has tabs made of thin plastic that appear fragile. I expect these would end up broken in use before long but obviously I didn't get the run time to find out.
