It extends the rainshower head out from the shower wall, and it makes the height of the rainshower head adjustable by quite a bit. It adds to the premium feel of the already excellent shower head. Installation was easy enough. Note that you have to work at pulling the connector ends away from the arm as the instructions tell you to. I found that rather than pulling it apart, you have to push it over. Mess with it a bit and you will figure it out. I was concerned that this extender would reduce the water pressure, but it does not at all. The water pressure is excellent with this and the shower head, with no restrictions.
