The rack is rock solid period. You can lift the bike using the rack, I’ve done it. I carry all my tools, first aid gear, etc in a tail pack that fits on it perfectly with about 14 pounds in it. It gives you a little more traction and it wheelies much easier if you want to hop a log. **Q: will this fit a Serow 250 ?** A: Fellow Yamahahopper owner, the rack I ordered fit perfect, but mine is a 1990, Serow XT 225. My suggestion is order it, if it doesn’t fit, return it.
