One can trim it themselves and get the right fit, although as someone else notes be careful to not make it too small! Early on I took to just cutting one line at a time. The printing is clear but doesn't really jump out at you. This was good for me as I didn't want to go around blatantly advertising my condition. Yet a medical professional or ambulance person would look at it right away. Simple and excellently priced. It does come from China (which I'm not happy supporting) and can take awhile to get to you through the mail. A day after I wrote this it came apart which is why I've reduced this review to 4 stars. I'm not very good mechanically so I'm glad there are instructions on the amazon web page! Once I checked them out I was able to put it back together easily. Love that you can adjust the size to make it as loose or as snug as you like.
