**Q: As a beginner, should I buy dreadnaught or concert size?**
A: It really depends on your size and comfort level. A concert size is going to have a smaller body than the dreadnaught. Thanks for your interest! Y2PLAY Stores 1-800-695-4808

**Q: What type of strings will go well with this guitar?**
A: I am happy with D'Addario EJ16 (phosphor bronze) light strings.  There is plenty of bass and midrange available on this large sloped-shoulder dreadnought guitar, so you can probably get good use out of 80/20 strings or Martin Retro.

**Q: what is the nut width**
A: 1 11/16 inches, or 43 mm.

**Q: I just received this guitar this evening. It sounds amazing but there seems to be some cloudy spots in the lacquer. Does anyone else notice it?**
A: If you means that there are wood lines darker than other that would be normal, if you means the finishing lacquer has spots that doesn't shine as the rest of the guitar then that would be a defective guitar, sometimes it just takes a bit of guitar wax to fix them, if you don't want to risk doing that then you needs to take pics that shows the defect and contact Amazon by phone or chat, they will ask to send the pics and then they will offer a return for a replacement or a refund, but you could also negotiate a discount and keep the guitar. That's what I did when my guitar came with a dent, instead of the return hassle I got a discount and kept the guitar.

I had a laminated spruce top guitar for about 10 years and still do. I used to play it about 10 hours on a weekly basis. That guitar had open up and became quite resonant. When I unpacked my FG 800, I wasn't expecting much because the guitar is brand new and hasn't been played at all and I had a reference sound to compare it to . But to my surprise, I was taken aback when I hit the strings on FG800. It sounds beautiful. Keep in mind that this guitar has never been played before so this guitar is only going to get better the more I play it. Also keep in mind if you are buying it from a store and you played it and didn't like it's sound, it might be your perception. Please ask other person to play it and feel as a listener. It sounds great and competes way above it's price point. I made the right choice. Thank you Yamaha for a beautiful instrument.
