But it wasn’t easy. The hole in the toilet body is small. So you can’t push the rubber part down through the top. But you can push the top of the rubber fitting up from underneath - with some effort and squishing of the rubber top flange to force it in the hole. Once seated, however, it fits well and it seems to holding everything nicely. **Q: Does this not use the wing nut on the bottom of the toilet hole?** A: The rubber part has a threaded insert. When you tighten the top the rubber is expanded in the hole of the toilet to hold it in place. These worked well for my toilet seat, which wanted to always move from side to side. **Q: Is it possible to use longer bolts with this in order to accommodate a luxe bidet and a handrail attachment? Might need extra length..** A: Yes you could but you don't need to. As long as the rubber part fits in the hole... all the bolt does is squeeze the rubber to make it expand inside the porcelain. It's a compression fitting. **Q: Mine are not holding the lid into place. Am I supposed to keep tightening?** A: This is an expansion bolt, and can only expand to a certain point. If your hole diameter is > the fully tightened up bolt, then you will need a bolt with a greater diameter.
