I'm a high end caterer and I use a silver polish after cleaning with Tarn-X and Tarn-X Pro. Flatware is stored in silver chests and all other pieces such as serving trays, punch bowls, coffee serving urns, etc are stored in soft cloth bags or pillow cases, then sealed in big plastic bags until used again. Flatware is usually cleaned twice a year and bigger items as needed. There are other products that work as well or better, but only come in very small bottles and it is very expensive to buy and store enough qty to use for dipping. Note: If you are storing misc big items in dish hutch for display, you may have to clean more often, lighting will show up tarnish.
