For this latest attempt I figured I'd try patches because they're the one thing I've never used.I opted for this pack because it's the biggest I could find and because the nicotine content is 21mg which is essentially the same amount as is absorbed by the body from a full pack of 20 cigarettes .I read the reviews on here before making the purchase and noted the comments about them being not very sticky. I then bought a pack of sticky bandages, because I had a cunning plan...My patches arrived and, after smoking my last cigarette, I stuck a patch on. I shaved a small area at the top of my arm and stuck my first patch on... it fell off 20 minutes later.I stuck the same patch back on but this time I wrapped the sticky bandage around it to keep it in place, I then got down to the serious business of regretting buying patches as I missed cigarettes instantly!The following day I moved my patch to the top of my forearm as I hadn't got on very well with the patch on the top of my arm. Sadly this wasn't ideal either as I used my dominant arm which, obviously, is used more than the weaker one and so, on the third day, the patch was shifted to my left arm, only this time I opted for an area just above the wrist, and that's what has worked since.I now routinely apply the patch and then instantly wrap the stretchy bandage over it to keep it in place. I've had no issues since. The patch stays in situ and the bandage ensures it doesn't fall off when the muscles in my arm move.I've not found it too difficult so far and am hopeful that the 17th time is the charm... there are cravings, obviously, but I've found that I miss the process of smoking more than the actual act. My body is getting the nicotine it wants but I miss the routine of going outside and doing the things I usually do (did) - that part is an easy fix and so now, when the mood strikes me, I take myself outside and stare aimlessly at my phone for around 7 minutes or so, and that tricks my brain into thinking that there's nothing wrong.I'm writing this on day six, so it's very early days yet, but I'm confident of success and have no intention of going back. Stupidly got drunk and had a ciggy thinking I'd be fine, big mistake, fast forward to now and I'm here again because I know they work, I've wasted money on vaping and tried cold turkey but knew I would succeed again on these so here I am. These kill my cravings to the point I dont really even think about smoking anymore, I'm not vaping either.. only down side is they don't stick down well, had a shower and off it came so I stick mine down with surgical tape and then its fine.
