I purchased this backpack because it was a bright shade of blue, not very big, and the bow was a nice accent. When I travel by plane I prefer to use a bright backpack that I can't lose!! While I would not choose to use the backpack for anything more than traveling by plane due to my age, I think it is a good value for a middle school age girl. While it has a plastic feel to it vs the soft leather I prefer, the zippers are sewn on well and slide easily. The back straps are thin, but the backpack is small and unless you are carrying rocks around the straps shouldn't dig into the shoulders too much. You can easily fit a large wallet, iPad, large cell phone, pen/pencil, keys, and gum into this bag. It is small enough to slip under the seat of a plane with room to spare for your feet!! While I normally hate the feel of plastic on my backpacks, I think this will be great for traveling because I can take a wet wipe to it and not fear I will ruin it. I think for the price it is a good bag. Good quality. The gold emblem is ugly and awkward. The bow was misshapen and squashed but I was able to fix that by putting ramekins in it for awhile.
