It is very sturdy, heavy, with good paint job, but it is not the perfect casting, The column flutes are not uniform, and there are grind marks in the base, I would say the clean up of the castings is mediocre at best. But you need to compare this to the price. I looked around and is was the best price I could find. plus is fits the sun dial very nicely and bolts on so it would get blown off. Make sure you think about the height, it is not that tall. I kept this and rated it ok because it looks old, beat up, and I like that look. I like that it look like it was made years ago and it fits my garden space well. Yes I wish the casting clean up was better, but for me in my garden you won't see the base that much. So it works.
