There’s no on/off switch but you simply plug it in via USB charger and that’s it. A blue light lures the bugs to the machine and a fan sucks them down into the bottom. The bottom screws off so you can empty out the bugs. This machine doesn't kill the bugs and if you turn the machine off, smaller bugs will fly out. I like that it’s not too noisy, you can hear the fan but it’s not a distraction. I just went ahead and plugged it in over night near my feet and the next morning I see three suckers trapped inside.
