These conditions are a cool, dry place between 55°-75°. Most importantly, freeze-dried foods need to be protected from moisture, oxygen, and sunlight. **Q: Once opened, how does shelf-life change?** A: Once your Nutristore can is open, freeze-dried food can last up to 6-12 months depending on storage conditions. The biggest hindrance to open can shelf life is exposure to air, light and moisture. **Q: What are the countries of origin that you source Nutristore foods?** A: We source Nutristore foods from trusted suppliers worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Ecuador, Greece, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Argentina, Serbia, New Zealand, India, Poland, Mexico, and Chile, depending on the season. **Q: Are your products non-GMO?** A: Many of our fruits and vegetables are sourced non-GMO. **Q: Are your #10 cans BPA free?** A: Yes, all our cans are BPA free! It may help to know that our cans are coated with a food-grade enamel. This lining does not contain BPA. This coating is used to further prevent oxygen, moisture, rust and light from coming in contact with the food. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No need to leave the house to buy cheese, now. *by on Reviewed in the United States 5 May 2025* I try to shop 100% on line, but occasionally had to drive to a store for things like cheese. Now I no longer need to do so. Cheese I did buy at the store often went bad before I used it all. Now, I just rehydrate as needed. No waste. The Colby and Cheddar from this maker both taste great and are just as good as store bought. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shredded Freeze Dried Cheese! *by on Reviewed in the United States 26 January 2023* I'm excited to add this to my food storage. My family loves cheese and being able to add shredded cheese to use with our long term storage food is amazing. Powdered cheese just isn't like cheese. My order came quickly and it was in great condition. I'm excited to buy more of their quality freeze dried products. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not powdered cheese *by on Reviewed in the United States 16 January 2023* I like that this is shredded cheese instead of powdered cheese. Powdered dried cheese has always seemed a little fake to me, and you're pretty much limited to making cheese sauce with it, and even that can have an odd grainy or gummy texture. Shredded cheese is so much more versatile--tacos, salads, casseroles, and anything else that calls for fresh shredded cheese. This is a great addition to our long-term food storage. Colby is one of my favorites because of its smooth melting texture, perfect for my homemade mac and cheese. My order arrived quickly and in excellent condition. ## Frequently Bought Together - Nutristore Freeze Dried Colby Cheese Shredded | Bulk Emergency Food Supply | Perfect for Camping, Backpacking and Everyday Meals or Snacking | 25 Year Shelf Life | #10 Can | 38.1 oz, 1080 g - Augason Farms Butter Powder Can, Emergency Food Supply, Everyday Meals, 510 Servings - Nutristore Freeze Dried Mozzarella Cheese Shredded 20 Large Servings | Premium Quality | Amazing Taste | Perfect for Camping | Survival Food --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/710102264-nutristore-freeze-dried-colby-cheese-shredded-bulk-emergency-food-supply](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/710102264-nutristore-freeze-dried-colby-cheese-shredded-bulk-emergency-food-supply) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
