Bought the expansion after wanting more power storage. Now have 2 base stations and 2 expansion packs because it worked so well. Lost power during hurricanes was able to keep the essentials running for a couple days while waiting for power to be restored. Being portable was great for bringing unit to family when they needed power and considering installing sub panel for automatic backup. Recommended buying base station and expansion pack, it's worth extra money and says you buying together

We live in an area with power outages. The 3800 plus an expansion battery runs everything but the air conditioning. A tip for everyone: Get a licensed electrician to install a generator plug and switch. This allows you to use the NEMA 14-50 outlet on the Anker Solix. It also insures that you don’t send power back out to the grid and fry the repairman who’s trying to restore your power. Alternatively, you can simply plug in loads (fridge, lights, etc.) directly into the 3800. Just don’t EVER try to energize your home wiring without having an electrician set it up properly. The Anker Solix 3800 is a remarkable battery with a lot of capability, and it gets us safely thru outages with fridge, well pump, sewage lift pump, etc. fully operating. Just no air conditioning, still working on that. Good luck!

If you already have a f3800 or f3800 plus as I do this is your only option. It works as advertised & I like the form factor. I cannot look past the fact that competition like the ecoflow pro ultra are offering 6kwh units and expansion batteries for the same cost....like 2000 more watt hours for the same cost. They'll need to prices these at $1500 or below before I'll buy more.

Received earlier than expected.Heavy unit. Well made. Came 80% charged and it took like 20 minutes to be 100% charged.Extra battery plugs right in and it was performing as intended.Panels seem well build. Unable to test because wiring will need to be longer, it is not a unit to be moving in and out of the house.So far I like it4 starts because I will need to test
