I purchased this item for my "Chorkie" who is approx 7-8 months old . He is only just going for a walk as hes had to wait for his injections .I purched the small dotty design and the extra small . The small being for winter and to allow for sweater or T shirts and jackets to go over the top of those items for the cold weather as it is now in December so do allow one size up for jackets and coats ect .The items arrived together (brown dotty ) on inspection of the closing mech or the clip while i was satified it was very secure once clipped in and that what i was worried about any fail and my dogs life could be at risk hes a little skittish and can go in the road, needs short lead and secure harness ..i found the opening mech of the clip nearly impossible on my fist few tries and thought with a person with false nails or old person they may not be able to use this item ..if you persevere sitting down opening and closing the harness clip you will get the hang of the way to do it or open it ..i tried pressing one edge in and then the other and then pulling it open ..but then i found at a certain point i could press two sides and pull and it did come open its a little fiddly at first but do have a go it may be easier the more tries you have its a little stiff new out of the packet ..but the time is well wworth the bother as the whole harness is "easy on " with some harnesses i have been trying to work out what end of dog goes where ???!!! and wher his head and legs goes ..like a puzzle im young but for older people with yorkies they would be just toally baffled ..this make it simple as its just slip in over the head nd you know the gusset is at the front on your doggies chest ..The dog went out for his walk at night and i was happy with the harness in the knowedge he is secure and that clip wont come out ..and im very glad i got the two sizes of xs and s i havent ttied the brwon xs yet that i can use for summer for a thin t shirt ...or maybe just over the dogs body closer fit round the chest ..they are adjustable in width round wher you clip the lead in ...or around the dogs body ..They are of course very soft which is what i wanted and all of us do for little doggies and you know there is no part this can dig in and hurt or injure your dog ..thats what i was looking for ..i have took one star off for that issue with opening the clip mech or buckle i was even thicnking at fist if i got it open could i file the clip but then again i didnt and dont advise or it will come open poss ..it loosens with use just have a few goes open and clise sitting dwon without your dog and dont give up on that becuse once your open and closing youve got a good harness ..try two sizes if your in beteen or not sure .. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Bought 2 *by K***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 March 2023* I bought a red and a pink ..both size medium.The pink is true to size but the waist strap keeps loosening while on.. so I glued it in place to stop the strap slipping...And my favourite the red one is 2 ins bigger around the neck, which on a yorkie is a lot.. so I've cut it and glued it together to fit..So while they look gorgeous I've had to alter both ... Just a couple of things that prevented it from getting 5 stars. The sizing is on the small side; I got a size S for my pup who is an 11 week old shih-tzu poodle cross after reading other reviews saying they do come small (I was initially going to get XS). The harness fits her perfectly at the moment, though I reckon she will outgrow it within a couple of months. The adjustable part is fine, but the bit that goes over the head is quite snug. Even now I have to smoosh her face a little bit to get it over her head but I suppose it's part of the design to make it more comfy while it's on!
