Can’t yet speak to longevity, but I am hopeful!Background: I live in a condo in NYC. About a month ago, we had a new neighbor move in... The next day, we saw a cockroach (for the first time) in our apartment. My hope is that the cockroach got in with their boxes.... Still, knowing what they say about seeing a cockroach during the day, I was horrified. I immediately went to Home Depot and got spray, poison traps, and two different door sweeps to try (because our front door has about a half inch gap on the bottom and I didn’t want to take any more risks). One door sweep (rubber self-stick) was not usable because it required a saw to trim to size. The other - a double draft stop that slides under the door and has two foam rolls on each side - was inconvenient because we had to bend down and lift it over the rug every time we opened the door. Searching for an alternative, I found this and thought it’d be the perfect solution!Installation: I finally got around to “installing” this - though installing seems like a weird word. It was very easy, contrary to many of the reviews I had read that made it seem nearly impossible. One person can easily install this within 5 minutes. Just take your time and be gentle pealing the back.In use: As you can see in the pictures, it fills the huge gap nicely. It’s been less than 24 hours since installing and I’ve only opened the door a handful of times, so I can’t speak to the stay-power of the adhesive or overall longevity of the product. But I am very hopeful because it is exactly what I need... so fingers crossed! As for noise reduction, it’s hard to say how well this product reduces outside noise, if at all. I feel like it may help a bit, but definitely nothing extraordinary.I will update my review regarding longevity as required. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheap solution to fill a door gap. *by K***F on April 2, 2021* Easily to install with strong adhesion that holds. It does flatten down after awhile so may not be as a good a seal as in the beginning but so far so good after several months.
