With these silicone straws, it's not an issue at all and they are super easy to clean afterwards with the provided brushes. We use them on cups with press and seal wrap, so you need to poke a small hole before trying to insert the straw, but that's no problem. There are 6 in the set so it's easy to leave one at work or in the car. They are flexible so I've been able to put one in my backpack or pocket when I'm out and about. There is a small brush to clean them. I love using the straws.
