We replaced a traditional sound board with this unit and it is awesome. The sound quality and features are way beyond what we had with our other basic board. The only down side, so far, is that on the old board we could hit a "solo" button and that would single a person out so we could mix easier...so far the "solo" buttons just make that person louder but do not eliminate the other voices. It may be operator error, but other than this little thing, this board seems to be everything we were wanting and so much more!!! Love it!!! Know that there is a learning curve involved. There seems to always be one or two guys experiencing disconnects from the software (so they can't adjust any faders)... or drop outs from the IEM system (nothing to do with the Mackie)...most FOH sound guys love the 'idea' in principle that we are taking control of our monitors. However, the system can also be used without the split snake, where the engineer uses an iPad and logs on to the DL system...this 'should' work fine...but I gotta say, the last time we tried this the engineer pressed 'something' and we lost front of house for 45 min. It wasn't until I loaded an older show that front of house came back....but then the engineer had lost everything he'd done up to that point. So, I'm a FAN of the split-snake. Just know that there is a learning curve...and many of us that are using this type of set-up feel the benefits outweigh the bummers. (I say this because 'some' band members that aren't as patient/open-to-change may want to kill you...the challenges and the learning curve can be very frustrating 'on the gig')...and I've found over the last many years, that these set-ups ALWAYS have some kind of glitch...ya just get used to it. **Q: Can you buy an extended warranty for this** A: We don't offer an extended warranty. I've done work on a 120 channel analogue mixer from 1985 and this is way worse. For one thing the software control is crap, pretty much you loose all vertical space and the settings are one of the most confusing I've ever seen. Then there's the fact that you can control it from multiple devices causes tug of war.
